Electrical Engineer - Sr. Level (Upstream)
Description:
The successful candidate will be responsible for producing safe, technically accurate and cost effective Electrical installation designs and deliverables for oil & gas production facilities, ensuring compliance with applicable specifications and standards, and completing work within project budget and schedule.
Duties will include some or all of the following:
• Technical execution of the engineering to properly size, specify, purchase and install a complete and operating electrical system that meets the Client requirements.
• Coordination of communications between the project team, the engineering and design team members to assure quality of work, and that consistent technical content drawing / design packages are maintained throughout a project.
• Creation and management of the electrical scope of work for the project
• Sizing of overall electrical system
• Specification, selection and purchase of all Electrical equipment to meet the performance criteria
• Integrate packaged equipment into overall system design
• Oversee development of detailed design drawings including One-lines, Plans, Details, Wiring diagrams and Fabrication Drawings
• Knowledge of industry codes and standards applicable to Oil & Gas and Refining Industries (API, ISA, NEC / IEC, NFPA, ASME, etc.)
• Develop and maintain labor and material estimates for projects
Develop and maintain progress, schedule, staffing planning, and coordination with project management including regular reporting.
Relocation/expat package is not available.

Requirements:
• 8+ years of offshore facilities engineering experience in a project environment to the upstream Oil and Gas industry in S.E. Asia
• Team oriented individual with good previous experience of different project development phases (e.g. Concept and FEED design development)
• Bachelors Degree in Electrical Engineering or related Engineering subject
• Legal authorization to work in Malaysia on a full-time basis
• Professional Engineer Registration Preferred
Candidates will also offer significant technical expertise in the following areas:
• Detail design engineering and power system study
• Power system modeling and analysis, preferably with ETAP
• Design, selection of a wide range of electrical equipment including HV/LV switchgear, transformers, VSDs, motor control and protection, power distribution, lighting, earthing
• Development of detailed design deliverables including block cable diagrams, schematic diagrams, one line diagrams, cable routing drawings, general arrangement drawings, cable schedules
• Area classification and the selection of electrical equipment / materials for use in hazardous areas
• Site survey experience
Experience in the following areas / tools would be of advantage:
• Production of engineering deliverables using Smart Plant Electrical (SPE)
• AutoCad
• Team oriented individual with good previous experience of different project development phases (e.g. Concept and FEED design development)
• Bachelors Degree in Electrical Engineering or related Engineering subject

Duties will include some or all of the following: • Review project standards and documents to assure the electrical scope of work, drawings and documents are compatible and aligned with overall project objectives. • Ability to work as a team member and coordinate with fellow Senior Designers to insure information received is clearly understood, communicated and documented. • Work with Lead Discipline Engineer and fellow Senior Designers to assure the integrity of project drawings and documents are maintained and consistent. • Communicate with Design Lead and design teams to insure changes in scope are carried out in an orderly and efficient manner. • Work with Design Lead and discipline engineer to assure potential trend / change orders are communicated and understood to / by the design team. • Assign specific design / drafting tasks to discipline design team. • Communicate with multi-discipline designers to insure design needs are addressed, and when necessary resolve issues in a mutually respectful manner. • Support Design Lead and discipline engineer with project planning, including estimates and control of drafting man hours. • Participate in PDMS model reviews with clients. Advise on technical issues that arise and document changes as required. Relocation/expat package is not available.
