Service Engineer

Responsibilities:

• To be a key contributor in the Fossil Power Generation Division (Instrumentation and Electrical) for the various service and commissioning activities for the ASEAN region and/or Energy sector projects in other regions
• To assist the service team in the execution of service contracts, customer service support and execution of service projects. To focus on the fulfillment of service contract obligations and to execute on-call services
• To troubleshoot and rectify faults in commissioned plants, control system tuning for the plant processes and optimization of the control system
• Responsible for the execution of service projects and the Siemens Distributed Control Systems upgrades including engineering, execution, schedule management and documentation
• Responsible for the on-site services of commissioning and start up of the Siemens Distributed Control Systems and sub-systems etc. This will include scheduled maintenance, carrying out engineering for change requests, system checks, system optimization, disconnection/re-connection of signals/instrumentation, loop checks, cold commissioning and hot commissioning of the process/power plant, tuning of control of loops and final handover
• Establish active relationships with the customers, consultants, internal as well as external customers
• To prepare proposals and/or quotations for services and service projects
• To support the Siemens Proposal Engineers (PE) and Commercial Executives (CE) by providing the necessary information, to accommodate communication and coordination between PE/CE and the customers, in order to prepare proposals and customer bids accordingly

Requirements:

• Candidate must possess at least a Diploma, Advanced/Higher/Graduate Diploma, Bachelor's Degree, Post Graduate Diploma or Professional Degree in Engineering (Electrical/Electronic) or equivalent.
• Minimum of 2-4 years’ experience in on-site services or commissioning of control systems
• Experience with Power/Steam Plant Technology shall be an added advantage
• Experience of working as a Project Leader or Team Leader shall be an added advantage
• Excellent communicator and customer oriented
• Good interpersonal skills and a team player
• Result-oriented coupled with strong analytical skills
• Exposure in working in a multi-cultural environment is preferred

1) Familiarization

• All type of Electrical Drawings
• Platform Layout.
• Work to be carried out / Work procedures

2) Design Work.

• Load List Calculation
• Cable Sizing (Design & Calculation)
• Lighting (Design & Calculation) 
• Hazardous Area Classification.

 3) Brief understanding of Power Generation and Distribution Philosophy for :

• Central Processing Platform (CPP)
• Wellhead Drilling Platform (Bridge Connected)
• Remote Control Drilling Platform.

Setelah penat Jamal menuntut ilmu sedari kecil hinggalah menjejakkan kaki ke UTM ini, dengan seribu macam dugaan dan cabaran diperjalanan tersebut. ALHAMDULILLAH pada tanggal 26 SEPTEMBER 2010, akhirnya  Jamal dapat bergraduasi dengan memiliki segulung IJAZAH SARJANA MUDA KEJURUTERAAN(ELEKTRIK) dari UNIVERSITI TEKNOLOGI MALAYSIA (UTM). Dan berkat doa dari ibu bapa, serta bantuan para pensyarah serta rakan seperjuangan, dapatlah juga Jamal ANUGERAH MEDAL UTM..Alhamdulillah
